What is BA JMC?

Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (BA JMC) is a 3-year undergraduate program that prepares students for careers in media and communications. BA JMC give students essential skills in writing, reporting, and online digital research methods across different media platforms including print, broadcast, and digital media.

This program combines theoretical knowledge with practical training. Students get practical experience in news reporting, content writing, media show production, and public relations. Most universities give students project work on media and news related topics. Students graduating in BA JMC gets salary ranging from Rs. 3 Lacs to Rs. 6 Lacs.

BA JMC Eligibility Criteria

General BA JMC admission requirement is a 12th pass certificate. Minimum percentage accepted is 40% to 50%. 12th pass certificate must be from state boards like Punjab School Board,  UP Board, Bihar School Board. National Boards like CBSE, ICSE, and NIOS are also accepted.

Application fee for the online BA JMC admission is between INR 500/- and 2,000/-. Apart from this, many university students will have to pay an exam fee for subjects of Journalism and Mass Communication between Rs. 200/- and Rs. 500/-. There are certain miscellaneous charges like university development fee, computer lab fees, and other charges for different co-curricular activities. Although these charges depends on the university and they vary accordingly.
